The Braintree and North Essex Sunday League’s final representative in the Essex County Cup competitions Beacon Hill Social bowed at the fourth round stage of the Sunday Junior Trophy. After a decent run in the competition they lost 5-3 at home against Barking (Community). Jamie Cracknell, Dean Slater and Eddie Holroyd scoring the goals.

George FC extended their lead at the top of the Premier Division to eight points after they won 4-0 at home against third placed Bocking and Vipers Social. Ricky Finnigan opened the scoring with a penalty, Left back Nick Boorman scored with a superb 25 yard strike, Adam Gillespie made it three with Josh Goodey completing the scoring with a free-kick.

Bottom of the table Western Arms picked up their second win of the season beating Essex Cricketers 4-2 at Silver End. Sam Hollocks scored twice for the hosts with Adam Hewitt and Mike Reeve also on Target. Liam Paton scored both goals for Cricketers.

CFC Shalford are through to the semi-final of the Premier Division Cup after they won 7-3 at home against Rayne. The game was evenly poised at 1-1 at the interval after Rayne had took the lead through Luke Culling. Gavin Bensley levelled things up. In the second half Shalford took control and ran out comfortable winners with two more goals from Bensley to complete his hat-trick with other goals coming from Sam Jones, Jordan Miller, Kane morgan and Nick Stackhouse. Rayne who fought hard pulled two goals back with Aaron Mitson and Paul Wicks on target.

The leaders of Division One Panfield Bell Rovers were held to a 2-2 draw as they travelled to face third placed Braintree Old Boys. Charlie Frost scored both goals for Rovers while Charlie Palmer with a penalty and James Duckworth replied for the hosts.

Second placed Old Bramstonians suffered a shock defeat losing 1-0 away against bottom of the table Frontline. Fisher scored the only goal of the game for Frontline who are off the bottom leapfrogging Cressing after this result.

Beaumont Wanderers remain in fourth place after they drew 1-1 away against Bocking Sports. Rowen Drann gave the visitors the lead after 15 minutes tapping home after a goalkeeping error, Bocking found the equaliser with 3 minutes left when Robin Butcher found the net.

Essex Police won 4-1 away against Horse & Groom and remain in fifth place. Aaron Heard scored twice with one apiece for Matt Stacey and Adam Dowsett. Simon Butcher scored the consolation for the home side.

Notley closed the gap on the leaders in Division Two to two points as they won 4-3 away against third placed Braintree Sporting. Kieran Bristow scored a brace, Kyle English with a penalty and an own goal saw the visitors claim maximum points. Alex Rudgley, Chris Downer and Jack Skinner were on target for Braintree Sporting.

Bottom of the table Onley Arms collected their second point of the season when they drew 1-1 away against fourth placed Cressing Yardley United. Lewis Dyson Scored for the home side, Daniel Bell finding the net for Onley.

Second from bottom Sporting 77 won 3-1 away against Titan United. Billy Capper scored two with Mark Sadler also on target as Sporting increse the gap between them and bottom place to six points. Aaron Felton scored the only goal for United.

Tolleshunt Knight Eagles won 3-2 at home against Braintree Town Supporters. The visitors took an early lead through Adam Francis but the hosts came back well with some excellant football to make it 3-1 at half-time thanks to a brace from Scott Simmons and one from Sam Berriman. The second half saw Town dominate with the wind at their backs and it wasnt long before Robbie Willcocks pulled a goal back to make it 3-2, Eagles hung on well to the one goal lead as it was wasnt for a fine save from Eagles sub keeper Lumb the points could of been shared.

In Division Three Witham Phoenix won 2-1 at home against Great Bardfield thanks to goals from Jon Flowers and Andy Pennock, phoenix are third with four games in hand and eight points behind second place. Matt Potter scored the goal for Great Bardfield who remain second from bottom.

Grat Notley, witham Galacticos and Bell United United made it through to the semi-final of the Division Three Cup.

Great Notley knocked unbeaten league leaders Sporting 77 Reserves out after a goal from Tristan Wolfenden with 12 minutes remaining gave them a 1-0 victory. Sporting could of had the game wrapped up by half-time but they missed a penalty and several glorious chances but it wasnt to be there day.

Witham Galacticos beat highflying CFC Shalford ‘A’ 4-3 after extra-time. Galacticos went into a 2-0 lead with Mark Ballard netting twice, Shalford pulled one back before half-time when Adam Archer scored. Archer scored again to level the scores at 2-2 in the second half but Galacticos kept fighting and went 3-2 ahead when Ballard completed his hat-trick. Shalford made it 3-3 when a Galacticos player scored an own goal to send the game into extra time. The winner came in the first period of added on time when substitute Jamie Adams scored to see Galacticos through.

Bell United are through after they travelled to New Street Saints and won 5-2. Kev Wells scored a hat-trick with Adam Cunningham and Carl Snell also on the scoresheet. Dean Passfield and Ricky Parish scored for Saints.

The final two games in the third round of the Charlie Turnbull Trophy took place with Bocking & Vipers Social and SC Crittall progressing to the quarter finals.

Bocking won 3-1 at home against fellow Premier division side Rayne. Rayne took an early lead against the run of play when Luke Bearman fired home from the penalty spot. Bocking equalised when Matt Hobley chipped home and despite pressing hard to find the winner, Rayne forced the tie into extra time. Both teams pushed for a winner in the added on period but it was Bocking who scored with two counter attacks with Aaron Chinnery and Craig Copas finding the net to see the hosts through.

SC Crittall won 8-1 away against Division One Panfield Bell Rovers. The away side lead 5-0 at the break and ran out comfortable winners with James Beattie scoring twice along with two wonder strikes from Mitchell Hickman with James Cordery, Jon Read and an own goal completing the scoring. Kevin Storey scored the only goal for Rovers.

Witham Galacticos, Notley and Sporting 77 Reserves are through to the semi finals of the Malcolm Foy Trophy.

Witham Galacticos of Division Three pulled of a fine result beating Division Two Cressing Yardley United 3-2. Ricky Baker, Adam Clark and a 25 yard volley from Kane Orr saw the visitors through, Charlie Groves scored both goals for United.

Division Three strugglers Great Bardfield lost 4-0 at home to Division Two highfliers Notley. Ricky Crimmins scored a fine hat-trick one a header, one a fine turn and a strike and one from the penalty spot with Lee Parker also on target from the spot.

Division Three leaders Sporting 77 Reserves beat Division Two Tolleshunt Knight Eagles after a penalty shoot-out was required. Scott Simmons put the visitors ahead after 12 minutes with Sporting equalising just before half-time through Jack McIntyre. Chris Cook put the home side 2-1 ahead 6 minutes into the second half but Eagles equalised with 7 minutes of normal time remaining. Neither side could be separated in extra time with Sporting coming out on top 5-3 in the penaly shoot-out.

George FC are the first team into a cup final this season as they secured their place in the Premier Division Cup final after a 6-2 home win against Essex Cricketers. Josh Goodey and Leroy Facey both scored twice with Goodey scoring one from an excellant volley. Ricky Finnigan scored a penalty and another fine volley this time from Jamie Fisher completed the scoring. Nick Carscadden and Dan Clark scored consolation goals for Cricketers.

In the Premier Division Bridgelink won 7-3 away against Argos United. Adam Pomphrett and Joe McCracken both scored hat-tricks and James Howes with the other goal as the away side close the gap on the top three. Brendon Corr with two and Lee Buckley scored for Argos.

CFC Shalford won 6-2 at home against bottom of the table Western Arms. Western with a much changed team of late had a decent first half and created the best of the chances early on only for the home side to take the lead before the interval when Gavin Bensley fired home. Bensley completed his hat-trick in the second half with other goals coming from Mitchell Simmons, Andy Turner and Nick Stackhouse. The home side took their foot of the pedal and allowed Western to score twice in the last 10 minutes through Sam Hollocks and Mike Reeve.

Second in Division One Old Bramstonians won 5-4 at home against Horse & Groom to leave themselves a point behind leaders Panfield having played a game more. Jon Islip, Sam Parsons, Billy Newley, Jay Mathams and Tony Wilkerson scored for the hosts. Stuart Joyce, Michael Cole, Jack Gilchrist and Adrian Agyemang-Duah were on target for the visitors.

Braintree old Boys moved up a place to third on goal difference as they won 3-1 away against Essex Police. Robbie Spalding, Rob Cole and a penalty from Charlie Palmer gave Old Boys maximum points. Frankie Cole scored the only goal for the Police.

Beaumont Wanderers and Cressing drew 1-1. Visitors Cressing took the lead through Charlie Spooner with Wanderers leaving it late to equaliser and earn a share of the points when centre half Dave Smith scored in the last ten minutes.

Beacon Hill Social’s 100% record in Division Two continued as they won 5-2 away against Braintree Town Supporters. Adam Francis and Gary johnson scored for the home side. Eddie Holroyd scored twice for the visitors along with others goals from Rob Hewer, Jamie Cracknell and Anthony Cantey.

CFC Shalford Reserves picked up a good three points winning 1-0 away against third placed Braintree Sporting. Aaron Mead scored the only goal of the game sliding the ball past the keeper with around 15 minutes remaining.

Titan United moved up a place to seventh after a 2-1 win away against bottom of the table Onley Arms with Simon Ackland and Craig Tomlinson scoring the goals. Jack Soar scored the only goal for Onley.

In Division Three second placed CFC Shalford ‘A’ were losing 2-0 at half time against Bell United with goals from Kev Wells and Jon Roper. The visitors came flying back to win 7-2 in the second half. Danny Saffer scored a hat-trick, Phil Goodwin two and one each for Trevor Chopping and Darren Pitt.

Witham Phoenix are up to third on goal difference after winning 8-2 at home against New Street Saints. Andy Pennock and Jon Flowers both scored hat-tricks with Jamie Mitchell and Tony Lowden scoring one apiece. Saints who earned praise from opposing manager Terri Whyman for their attidude and spirit shown scored thanks to Joe Cornwall and Dan Lodge.
