Results ‘Round-up’ – Sunday 12th November 2017

Gordon Snell Trophy 2nd Round
 
Broomfield hosted Bocking Social in this all Premier clash with Bocking Social going through 3-2 winners.  Broomfield goal scorers were Mo Elmailoudi & Sam Duhig.  Bocking Social goal scorers were Harry Groves 2 & Fraser Marshall.
 
Tiptree Elite from the Premier Division hosted Witham Nomads of Division Two with the Premier side winning 11-0.  Tiptree Elites goal scorers were Mario Andrew 2, Scott Simmons 2, Jon Mann 2, Carl Driver 3, Mitchell Wright & Matt Allum.
 
Valley Green hosted Braintree Legends of the 2nd Division with the Premier side going through 3-0.  Valley Green’s goal scorers were Jack Stoneham, Harry Ellis & Jamie Panting.
 
Division One Cup 1st Round

Group A
 
Great Bardfield hosted Onley Arms and won 6-3 coming back from 3 goals down. Great Bardfield goal scorers were Matthew Potter 2, Scott Forbes 2, Connor Hopkins & George Sheath. Onley Arms goal scorers were Ben Collar, James Grace and Billy Kinkaid.
 
Tiptree Jobserve hosted Great Notley and drew 0-0.
 
Group B 
 
Bocking Social Reserves hosted Notley FC with the game ending in a 3-3 draw. Bocking Social Reserves goal scorers were Aaron Mangan 1, Conor Clark 1 & Isaac Falk 1.  Notley FC’s goal scorers were Scott Collins 1, Matthew Weston 1 & Jason Thompson 1.
 
Sporting 77 hosted Great Bradford’s and won 4-1.  Sporting 77 goal scorers were Thom Scotting, Chris Cook & Tom McGee.  Great Bradford’s goal scorers was James Chalk.
 
Division Two Cup 2nd Round 
 
Witham United 0-6 Witham Phoenix.
Brilliant game with Phoenix goal scorers Jon flowers and Fab Williams with 2 each, Neil Lewis and Duane Marshall one each, great game with yet another penalty save from Aaron O’Shea to help towards a clean sheet everyone played their part today.
 
Essex Junior Trophy 3rd Round
 
Great Bradford Reserves hosted Corinthians. The score was 1-1 after extra time with Corinthians winning 11-10 on penalties. Great Bradford Reserves goal scorer was Owen Gray.

Premier Division 
 
Black Notley 2nd hosted Nags Head Celtic 1st in a match against the top two teams with the points shared in a 1-1 draw.  Black Notley goal scorer was Liam Paton.  Nags Head Celtic goal scorer was Rory Bone.
 
Braintree Iron entertained Witham United in the League with Braintree running out 4 – 0 winners. Prior to kick off the minutes silence was immaculately observed with the Iron providing a poppy wreath tribute to commemorate the fallen in the centre circle. ” Lest we forget”. The Amber and Blacks took the lead mid way through the first half Mitch Simmons netting with a clever back header. The score remained 1-0 until half time in a fairly tight game. In the second period Braintree continued to press forward and began to take a grip of the match and further extended their advantage when Sam Jones finished a neat passing move assisted by Kieron Dodge who had come on minutes earlier. Dodge continued to have a positive impact on the game with some deft touches and high work rate. Mitch Simmons added the third capping a man of the match performance with a quality strike from distance. Irons 4th to secure the points was scored by Lewis Soraf who had an impressive game in an unfamiliar wide midfield position. The win takes Braintree Iron to within touching distance of the League leaders with games still in hand.
 
CFC Shalford 2 Flitch United 1
The visitors took the lead in the third minute when a corner was headed goalwards, keeper Colville saved well but the ball fell to Josh Burgess who fired home. 
Shalford equalised after 29 minutes when Stone was pushed in the box and Smith stepped up to plant the penalty past the keeper.
The winner for the home side came with 15 minutes remaining, great build up play down the left saw Collier excellently cross for Levi Gray to fire the ball in at the far post.
 
Division Two 
 
Panfield Bell 3 Dunmow Rhodes FC 1 
Dunmow Rhodes travelled to Panfield Bell FC on Sunday, who had not picked up a league win this season and sitting at the bottom of the league table, but the team put in a good performance winning 3-1.This was a good hard fought contest, with Rhodes having three good chances in the first five minutes of the game, and took the lead a few minutes later with skipper CHRISTIAN ROLES firing past the keeper. Panfield Bell scored midway through the first half after a good spell of play when BEN PARKER scored with a good finish to make it 1-1.The home team still pushing forward, hit the post from a decent shot, and then BEN PARKER hit his second goal with a neat lob over the Rhodes keeper Luke Johnson, and Panfield Bell finishing the first half stronger with a 2-1 lead. The second half was another end to end game with both teams creating chances, but Panfield Bell had a free kick which was taken by BEN PARKER his excellent shot from distance gave Luke Johnson no chance to save as the ball nestled in the bottom corner to make it 3-1 and Parker`s hat trick. Dunmow Rhodes were working hard in the final quarter of the game, with
George Hamill hitting the cross bar, Sam Duberry and Christian Roles also going close but the Final Score ending well for Panfield Bell winning 3-1. M.O.M for Dunmow Rhodes was George Hamill.
 
 
Tolleshunt Knights Eagles 1st hosted Valley Green Reserves 9th and won 3-1 to move 5 points clear at the top of Division 2.  TK Eagles goal scorers were Andy Cheek 2 & Ben Kirkham.
