Gordon Snell Trophy Semi Final
Braintree Iron progressed into the Gordon Snell cup final with a 0 -3 away win at Bocking Social. The game was not pretty to watch with the home side playing a very direct brand of football which the Iron defence dealt with in it’s usual efficient manner recording yet another clean sheet. Kieron Dodge opened the scoring for the Amber and Blacks late in the first half with a composed finish. The second Iron goal was netted early in the second half by Lewis Soraf who did well to control a high ball and slot home. Bocking conceded a late penalty and to the delight of the watching crowd Dan Ward stepped up to score his first goal for the club with a well taken strike sending the keeper the wrong way to complete the victory.

Dunmow Rhodes FC 3 Sporting 77 3
A good performance by Dunmow Rhodes on Sunday at High Easter, against division one side Sporting 77 in the Invitation Trophy Group B ,with a 3-3 draw in this entertaining match. Sporting 77 controlled most of the first half and the Rhodes defence were kept busy as was keeper Luke Johnson making some good saves, but against the run of play Rhodes took the lead midway through the first half, a neat pass by Ben Fisher found player manager George Alexander in space and he sent in a cracking shot from distance, with the ball flying into the top corner of the net 1-0. The lead did not last long, Sporting 77 scored from a corner kick, the cross ball finding the head of Jordan Phillips to make it 1-1. Further pressure from Sporting 77 saw the ball hit the post and crossbar. Jordan Phillips scored again from another corner, and a neat headed goal. 1-2.Phillips turned provider for Sporting 77 third goal his cross found Charlie Luxton to head home and make it 1-3 at Half Time. Dunmow Rhodes were much stronger in there play in the second half and started to control the game and from an Adam Griggs brilliant free kick, hit Rhodes second goal. 2-3,more pressure from Rhodes on the Sporting 77 defence, saw the ball nestle in the back of the net via an own goal.3-3,both teams were trying to find that winning goal, but the score stayed 3-3 at Full Time. Man of the Match for Dunmow Rhodes was George Alexander. Dunmow Rhodes goal scorers were George Alexander, Adam Griggs & an OG. Sporting 77’s goal scorers were Charlie Luxton 1 & Jordan Phillips 2.

Witham Swan hosted Panfield Bell in this cup tie and Panfield Bell won 7-2. Witham Swans goal scorer was Ryan Kehoe 2. Panfield Bells goal scorers were Ben Parker 4, Toby Gross 1, Lewis Fennex 1 and Joe Johnson 1.
Nags Head Celtic 2nd hosted Flitch United 4th with the away side getting of to a great start and going 3-0 up, which seemed to spark Nags Head Celtic into a response and they fought back to win 5-3 and stay 1 point off the top in second place. Nags Head Celtic goal scorers were Charlie Palmer 2, Sean Radley, Rory Bone and Stacey Dawes. Flitch United’s goal scorers were Ezra Drann, Rowen Drann, and Luke Thorndyke.
Tiptree Elite 8th hosted CFC Shalford 1st and put up a good fight against the league leaders but CFC Shalford won 3-2. Tiptree Elite’s goal scorers were Carl Driver 1 & Scott Simmons. CFC Shalford’s goal scorers were Hayden Mihlenstedt, Tyrone White, & Matt Smith (Penalty).
Witham United 6th hosted Western Arms 7th and the away side won 5-1. Witham United’s goal scorer was R. king 1. Western Arms goal scorers were Kev Hawes 4, Dan Gage 1.
Great Bardfield 2nd hosted Tiptree Jobserve 3rd with the Home side winning a good game 4-0 and cut the gap on the leaders to 4 points. Great Bardfield’s goal scorers were George Sheath, Matthew Potter, Adam Daniels & Liam Quinn.
Great Notley 1st hosted Great Bradfords 4th and Great Bradfords won 2–1 in a tight game and move 3rd and cut the game between the teams to 6 points. Great Notley’s goal scorer was Ben Hindley. Great Bradfords goal scorers were James Chalk & Harry Mills.
Notley FC 7th hosted Onley Arms 8th and won 3-0. Notley FC’s goal scorers were Matthew Weston, Darren Douglas & an OG.
Great Bradford Reserves 7th hosted Witham Nomads 4th and drew 2-2. Great Bradford Reserves goal scorers were Brandon Masheder 1 & Matt Baker 1. Witham Nomads goal scorers were Aiden Lizzimore 1 & James Ambrose 1.
Manor Works 9th hosted T K Eagles 5th and had a good win 3-1 in their last game of the season. Manor Works goal scorers were Tom Garnham 1, Gary Johnson 1 & Stuart Marsh 1. T K Eagles goal scorer was Andy Cheek.
