Premier Division

Today Nags head Celtic entertained Tiptree Elite with both teams missing a few players and Celtic fielding experienced players, player manager Ricky Guy and captain Steve Daniels at the back game started with a even match until Celtic unlocked the door with a goal from Dobrowolski who ended with a hat-trick and the dreamer Palmer with a brace one from the edge of the box this time.

Western Arms stay 2nd with a 6-2 win over Broomfield. Western Arms goalscorers were B. Jones 3, S. Hollocks, R. Edwards & I. Scubitch and Broomfields scorers were S. Duhig and H. Cawston.

With both sides being under strength and having key players missing Braintree Iron earned a comfortable 6 – 0 win over Valley Green showing the quality in depth of their squad. Luke Frisby continued his strong start to the season by bagging another hat-trick, Lewis Soraf on debut was really imposing and bolstered the midfield scoring a screamer from distance, The skipper Billy Capper was dominant in the middle and also got off the mark with his first of the season and the goal scoring was completed by Tayla Hughes who has waited for a chance in his preferred position up top. The Iron were dependable as usual across the defence limiting the opposition to long range efforts for most of the game. Phil Phillipou in goal didn’t put a foot wrong and got the team moving forward quickly with some great distribution. The refs don’t often get a mention but Steve Connor officiated and played his part in keeping the game flowing and getting all the major decisions right.

Black Notley drew with Bocking Social 2-2, Bocking Social goal scorers were D. Potter & H. Groves.

Witham United 3 CFC Shalford 1, Witham took the lead after 11 minutes when Callum Knightsbridge headed home a corner and they lead 1-0 at half-time, they increased the lead after 57 minutes when Scott Barrett found the net and made it 3-0 with 15 minutes to go thanks to Jed Merton, Tyrone White pulled a goal back for Shalford with 5 minutes to go.

Division 1

Tiptree Jobserve 3 – 1 Notley FC, A quick tempo to the start of the game which Tiptree continued thoughtout, Tiptree went 1 up 10 minutes into the game Notley soon drew level after a good move down the right a delightful cross by captian for the day Jason Thompson was headed home by Sam Love’s first of the season. Half time Tiptree lead 2-1, Notley upped their speed of play but a deflected shot looped over the keeper for tiptree to win the game 3-1.

Great Bradfords 5 Great Bardfield 0, from the whistle Bradfords had control of the game, within the first 10 minutes Andy Turner scored a thunderous volley to put them 1-0, all the hard work paid off when Turner scored his second goal. Bradfords continued to dominate with a third goal from Liam Blackburn, followed by turners third goal, and the final goal from James chalk sealed a brilliant performance.

Bocking Social Reserves drew with Great Notley today 4-4 and are now the only unbeaten side in Division 1. Bocking Social Reserves scorers N. Clarke 2, D. Foy, R. Edney. Great Notley Scorers were B. Hindley 2, R. Layton and J. Bull.

Division 2

Dunmow Rhodes FC ( 4 ) v Panfield Bell FC ( 4 )
Several missed chances by Dunmow Rhodes FC against Panfield Bell FC on Sunday, at High Easter,cost them dearly, and they had to settle for a 4-4 draw,straight from the kick off,Dunmow Rhodes striker Sam Duberry had his shot pushed past the post by the Panfield Bell keeper,after a corner cross,JP.Alexander had a header,with the ball going over the bar,Rhodes continued putting pressure on the Panfield Bell defence,but it was Panfield Bell who scored first,when James Alliston scored midway through the first half.Rhodes soon drew level,from a good finish from Kennie Irving,Rhodes then took a 2-1 lead from a well directed free kick, by skipper for the day JP.Alexander,his shot flew over the keepers head,to make it 21 at Half Time.The second half got underway,with Panfield Bell scoring through Joe Johnson, tucking the ball into the net, by the near post.Rhodes then started to create more chances,with Kennie Irving sending over a great cross,and Sam Duberry powered in an excellent headed goal to make it 3-2,the same connection saw Rhodes take a 4-2 lead,with Kennie Irving sending over the cross, and Sam Duberry firing past the Panfield Bell keeper.James Alliston then scored his second goal for Panfield Bell,and in the closing minutes of the game, Liam Jeffrey scored, with a neat finish,Rhodes keeper Luke Johnson pulled off a good save,and the Final Score was 4-4.

Witham Nomads lost 1-5 to Witham Phoenix who collected their first win of the season. Witham Nomads Goal Scorer was D. Toth and Witham Phoenix goal scorers were L. Spinelli, J. Flowers, F. Williams with 2 and an OG.

Valley Green Reserves 0 – Great Bradfords 4, A great game to see in Division two today. Great Bradfords came out the starting blocks hard after a disappointing game last week. Some fantastic football played throughout the game with the team working well together exciting us for the season ahead. A quick goal from Mike Kayley followed shortly after by Captain Matt Baker gave Bradfords a comfortable lead. Jack Gilgrist followed with a net breaker overhead kick from a perfect ball in the box. In at half time with a 3-0 lead saw Bradfords cruise in the second half, keeping possession and pressing the Valley Green goal. A great display finished off with Jack Gilgrist following in a keeper spill. Bradfords can take that performance into next weeks county cup fixture at our Blackmore End Home as we meet Witham Nomads.

Manor works hosted Braintree Legends in a tight game. Braintree Legends won 3-2 their first win of the season. Peter Shaw and Read Whitehead scored the goals for Manor Works while Gary Harbert, Mark Reilly and Aaron Chinnery scored for Braintree Legends.
