Essex County Sunday Premier Cup

Witham United hosted Romford Elite and won 5-2 to remain Braintree & North Essex Sunday League’s only remaining team. Well done Witham United and good luck in the next round. Witham United’s goal scorers were Jed Merton 2, Rob King 2 & Liam Smith. Witham now face a away quarter-final tie against Hullbridge Sports Sunday First on 18th February.

Gordon Snell Trophy 3rd Round

Tiptree Jobserve hosted Great Bardfield in an all 1st division tie between two of the top 3 teams, with the away side winning 2-1. Tiptree Jobserve’s goal scorer was Matt Griffin. Great Bardfield’s goal scorers were Lewis Hughes and Gareth Coombs.

Malcolm Foy Memorial Trophy 3rd Round

Great Notley hosted Bocking Social Reserves and won 2-1 in this all 1st division clash. Great Notley’s goal scorers were Ben Hindley & James Watson. Bocking Social Reserves goal scorer was Aaron Mangan.

Neil Horrocks Memorial Invitation Plate

Onley Arms hosted Notley in a clash between two Division One side and saw the away side winning 5-2. Onley Arms goal scorers were Dean Wiffin & OG. Notley FC goal scorers were Bradley Barnard, Liam Pettitt, George Shorten & Diogo Oliveria 2.

Premier Division

Flitch United 3rd hosted Broomfield FC 10th and won 4-1 to go top of the table. Flitch United Goal Scorers were Billy Skinner, Nigel Ololade, Kieran Heap, Ezra Drann. Broomfield FC’s goal scorer was Najeeb Ali.

Tiptree Elite 7th hosted Braintree Iron 5th with the away side winning 3-1 and moved up to 4th place. . The Iron defence was very solid with Dan Ward outstanding in limiting Tiptree to few opportunities. Sam Jones opened the scoring for the Amber and Blacks. Tayla Hughes made it 2 with a powerful shot from long range. James Norris added the 3rd all of the goals coming from a dominant Iron midfield. In the second half a number of substitutions meant that the squad was fully utilised with all 15 players getting a run out.
Tiptree Elite’s goal scorer was Carl Driver. Braintree Iron’s goal scorers were Sam Jones, Tayla Hughes and James Norris.

Division One

Sporting 77 5th hosted Great Bradford’s 7th and in an even game drew 2-2. Sporting 77′ goal scorers were Thom Scotting and Charlie Luxton. Great Bradford’s goal scorer was Andy Turner 2.

Division Two

Braintree Legends 4th hosted Great Bradford Reserves 8th and won 4-1 to move into 3rd place. Braintree Legends goal scorers were John Archer 2, Phil Smith & Aaron Boyd. Great Bradford Reserves goal scorer was Job Roper.

Panfield Bell 6th hosted Witham Phoenix 7th which ended in a 2-2 drew. Panfield Bell’s goal scorers were Joe Johnson & Callum Orukics. Witham Phoenix’s goal scorer was Jon Flowers 2.

T K Eagles 1st hosted Manor Works 9th with the away side pulling of an excellent 5-2 win. T K Eagles goal scorer was Brett Melia 2. Manor Works goal scorers were Matt Stacey 2, Gary Johnson, Stuart Marsh & Rob Marsh.

Witham Nomads 3rd hosted Valley Green Reserves 10th and won 6-2 to move into 2nd place with one point off the leaders. Witham Nomads goal scorers were Sam Greenhalgh, James Ambrose, Dan Fairs 2, Liam Lizzimore and Eddie Holroyd.
