Results Roundup – Sunday 4th February 2018

Premier Division

Braintree Iron 4th hosted Bocking Social 6th and the home side won 3-1 to move up to 3rd place. Braintree Iron goal scorers were Nick Stackhouse, Sam Jones and Kieran Dodge. Bocking Social’s goal scorer was Sean Pilgrim.

CFC Shalford 5th hosted Tiptree Elite 7th and the home team won 2-1. CFC Shalfords goal scorers were Steve Clarke & Matt Smith. Tiptree Elite’s goal scorer was Mario Andrew.

Western Arms 9th hosted Flitch United 1st and earned a good point each in is 2-2 draw. Western Arms goal scorer was Paul Wicks with 2. Flitch United goal scorers were Billy Skinner & Josh Burgess.

Division One

Onley Arms 8th hosted Great Bradfords 7th and the points were shared in this 2-2 draw. Onley Arms goal scorers were Ben Collar and James Grace. Great Bradford’s goal scorer was Josh Preston 2.

Division Two

Great Bradford’s Reserves 8th hosted Manor Works 9th. With the home side winning 3-2. Great Bradford’s Reserves goal scorers were Jack Gilgrist 2 & Keith Jones 1. Manor Works goal scorers were Tom Garnham & Matt Stacey (Pen).

Division One Cup Semi Final

Tiptree Jobserve hosted Sporting 77 in this semi final which Sporting were never behind and ended in 5-5 after extra time and Sporting 77 won 5-4 on Penalties to go through to the final. Tiptree Jobserve goal scorers were Danny Gill, Ryan Pearce, Matt Griffin 2 & James Scarlett. Sporting 77’s goal scorers were Charlie Luxton, Thom Scotting 2 & Chris Cook 2.

Division Two Cup Semi Final

Braintree Legends hosted Witham Nomads and move into the final with a 4-0 win. Braintree Legends goal scorers were Ben McGlashen, Hayden Swann, Mike Emerson & Aaron Boyd.

Witham Phoenix hosted Panfield Bell with the home side winning 5-4 to move in to the final. Witham Phoenix goal scorers were Jon Flowers 2, Fab Williams, Neil Lewis & Darren Badger. Panfield Bell goal scorers were Dave Shaw, Andy Hague, Joe Johnson & Ryan Gilbert.

Invitation Trophy Group A

Great Bardfield FC 4 Dunmow Rhodes 3

Great Bardfield who are top of division one played host to Division two Dunmow Rhodes, in an excellent game on Sunday, a seven goal thriller in the Invitation Trophy Group A. Great Bardfield started the stronger, keeping the Rhodes defence busy and they took the lead through a penalty which Adam Daniels converted, Great Bardfield soon made it 2-0 when Liam Quinn found the back of the net. Rhodes then started to play some good passing football, JP Alexander sent in a good free kick, it found Jake Sutton in space to fire home to make it 2-1 at half time. Great Bardfield hit there third goal when Gareth Coombs scored. Both teams continued passing the ball around well,and Rhodes skipper Christian Roles going close, and deserved there second goal, which was well taken by Sam Duberry to make it 3-2.Great Bardfield made it 4-2 from a neat finish from Spencer Smith, back came Rhodes again who were awarded a penalty, and Kennie Irving fired his shot past keeper Daniel Mayne 4-3.The last ten minutes was very tense, Rhodes creating several chances, and Great Bardfield trying to increase there lead, but the final score ending 4-3 in Great Bardfield’s favour,in this very enjoyable game. M.O.M for Dunmow Rhodes was Kennie Irving.

Invitation Trophy Group B

Bocking Social Reserves from Division 1 hosted Tolleshunt Knight Eagles from Division 2 and won 8-0. Bocking Social Reserves goal scorers were Aaron Mangan 4, Isaac Falk 2, Jason Lott & Rory Edney.
