BNESL 2014/15

Sunday 30th October 2016

As we get nearer to the Christmas break the league tables are shaping up nicely.

We are starting to see those who are clearly going to stretch out on already high goal differences and those that need to find some results to keep above the drop zone. Sadly this year our teams on have not had good fortune in the Essex County cups with the majority of them not progressing to the next stages. However, this week saw Witham Utd host George and Dragon. Home advantage and a strong starting 11 saw then easily through into the next round of the Essex Premier cup as the won 5-0. Our own competitions are now into their third week of fixtures with some good results being seen, I am sure all teams are looking forward to the final stages and playing at either Halstead Town FC or Braintree Town FC later in the year if the chance arises.

It’s been quite a week in the BNESL with several teams having struggled for players or to finding alternative pitches. I am please to say the majority of these teams have been able to crack on and find the means to keep the games on. Well done and thank you. Your efforts are noted and greatly appreciated by all involved, this means the competition still thrives and continues to be one of the best Sunday Leagues in Essex.

In the Prem this week saw most games played between teams above and below each other and now means the table is an exciting read. Western Vs Tiptree Elite was abandoned after 20 minutes after a broken leg. Western were in lead lead 1-0. Best wishes to the injured player. Black Notley beat Great Bradfords to go above them and Dunmow Rhodes beat Bocking Social which means they climb the table a few places. CFC Shalford suffered another deafeat, this time at the hands of a strong Braintree Bull.

Div 1 now has Panfield Bell at the bottom of the table after loosing to Broomfield 2-1 and Onley managing a win against Witham Nomads. CSS Celtic are still on a good run as they remain top of Div 1 after extending their lead to 6 points clear after beating Notley 5-0.

Div 2 did not throw up any surprises this week sadly. Great Bradfords Res suffered yet another at the hand of Dunmow Rhodes Res. This is the second defeat to Dunmow Rhodes Res in 3 weeks but both still sit 1st and 2nd in the table in what is shaping up top be a good title chase for both teams. TK Eagles beat Witham Swan 5-1 in a 4th Vs 5th Clash. TK now move into 4th position.

Another week another round of fixtures down. Keep an eye on the cup fixtures as there are bound to be a few good ones.
