Dunmow Rhodes FC – Charity Match for local girl Amber.
On Sunday 15th July, Dunmow Rhodes FC were asked to take part in a Funday, Charity Football match against family and friends of a local girl, Amber.
Amber is now 6. She was resuscitated at birth and her family were told she would not survive as her organs would never work and she would never breathe on her own. The family made the difficult decision to turn off Ambers life support machine. Amber at that point kicked into life. She has Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, vision and hearing loss and she is non verbal/ non mobile. The Funday was to raise funds to help Amber to thrive with the help of daily Physio and give her as much potential going forward.
On a very hot day the team pulled positions out of a hat and enjoyed a well fought football game against tough oppositions. The game finished 1-1 with Dunmow Rhodes then winning on penalties. The team and parents raised £420 for Ambers Charity! A great day was had by all.
