It was a top of the table clash at the Tiptree Leisure World Centre on Sunday between division one leaders Tiptree Elite and third place Dunmow Rhodes and with a perfect playing surface on the 4G pitch, both teams could play there excellent fast flowing ,passing football. Both teams had early chances to take the lead, but both defences were in good form.Tiptree Elite took the lead midway through the first half when Tim Eve found space and fired the ball past a diving Dunmow Rhodes keeper Luke Johnson to make it 1-0.Dunmow Rhodes soon drew level when the tricky Emilio Caceres – Sola sent a good pass to Sam Duberry, his shot was pushed away by keeper Phil Morley, the ball fell nicely to Charlie Gooch who hit the ball into the net to make it 1-1.Tiptre Elite found the net again just before half time, when Tommy Gregory hit an excellent shot from the right flank with power and the ball flying past keeper Luke Johnson making it 2-1 at Half Time. The second produced no goals but both teams were still playing attractive football which was noted by the the supporters, chances kept coming at both ends with both keepers saving well, but the final whistle was blown by Referee Dave Parker who also had a good game and Tiptree Elite winning 2-1. Great Bradfords Reserves met Bocking Eagles, a team we have previously failed to beat in our BNESL time, in the Malcolm Foy cup. A tense first half saw Bradfords frustrated and come in 4-0, with fortunes down and a hard task ahead the lads made to the field with nothing to lose. A quick goal from Callum Denson saw hope flicker for Bradfords but with 25 minutes left time looked to be running out. Quick fire goals from Mike Kayley and James Shearer saw Bradfords fighting for extra time. Three minutes to go and a wonder free kick from Leon Griffin saw extra time a plausibility. Extra time and Bradfords concede as quickly as they did at the start of the match. A continued power from the boys and great football saw another James Shearer goal. 5-5. Bradfords had the bit between their teeth as Leon Griffin completed his hatrick to see 7-5 and Bradfords in the lead for the first time. 7 minutes left and all Bradfords had to do was hold on. A great set piece header from Bocking saw the score 7-6 before their seventh of the match coming from a goalkeeping error on the stroke of the whistle. Penalties! Bradfords volunteers came running to take penalties with Bocking and Bradfords scoring their first – Jack Morter. Keeper Sam Poulton then showed his strength with an excellent save before Bradfords had their second saved as well. Bocking’s third was saved with Bradfords Owen Gray scoring a well placed bottom corner penalty. Bocking’s fourth was then put over the bar, leaving it in a fitting way for Callum Denson to finish the game after a show stealing performance – GOAL! Bradfords have beaten Bocking for the first time since joining the BNESL in a spectacular comeback!

Through to the semi final of the Malcolm Foy to attempt to replicate our first teams success as last seasons winners!!!
