Results Round-up – Sunday 12th May 2019

Premier Division

Western Arms 2nd hosted Flitch United 3rd and the home side won 5-2 and both sides finish the season as they were. Western Arms goal scorers were Ross Debrick 2, Paul Ansell & Ryan Henshaw 2 and Flitch United’s goal scorers were Michael Runicles & Jordan Marsh.

Division One

Braintree Legends 3rd hosted Dunmow Rhodes 4th and the game was drawn 4-4 which means both teams stay in the same positions in the league. Braintree Legends goal scorers were Robert Rusu Constantine, Jon Archer, Dean Marange & Simon Butcher and Dunmow Rhodes goal scorers were Adam Griggs, Kennie Irving 2 & an OG.

Dunmow Rhodes and Braintree Legends saved the best till last, in this excellent last match of the league season at High Easter for both teams in this 8 goal thriller Dunmow Rhodes got of to a good start after a great run down the right flank by Sam Hockley, his cross found Adam Griggs in space to fire home with a good finish to make it 1-0. Braintree Legends soon drew level when Rob Constatine hitting the back of the net, Braintree Legends then took the lead from a free kick and Dean Meringue smashed the ball past keeper Luke Johnson to score his first goal of the season, this was a very entertaining first half and Braintree Legends just having the edge at half Time with the 2-1 lead.

Dunmow Rhodes came out strong in the second half, Warren Baines put in an excellent shot and the keeper pushing the ball over the bar, Emilio Caceres -Sola had two shots blocked on the goal line, but against the run of play Braintree Legends hit there third goal from a brilliant shot by John Archer giving keeper Luke Johnson no chance to save, but back came Dunmow Rhodes with Warren Baines having another shot blocked on the goal line, Emilio Caceres -Sola then sent in a free kick which was pushed away for a corner,which was taken by Harrie Irving, he found the head of a Braintree Legends defender, who sent the ball past his own keeper to make the score 3-2 with an Own Goal. Braintree Legends took a 4-2 lead with the goal scored by Simon Butcher. Player/Manager George Alexander came on for the last ten minutes after a long lay off through injury, this seem to inspire the team as a Warren Baines shot hit the post and Kennie Irving followed up to smash the ball into the net. 4-3. The same two players combined again, from a Warren Baines pass found Man of the Match Kennie Irving to fire home and make the Final Score 4-4. Kennie Irving finished the season netting 22 goals in cup and league games.

Notley First 8th hosted Bocking Eagles 6th with the away side winning 2-0 and they move up to 5th place. Bocking Eagles goal scorers were Isaac Falk & Jordan Lidster.

Tiptree Jobserves 7th hosted Witham Nomads 9th and the home side won 6-4 which means no movement for either team. Tiptree Jobserve’s goal scorers were Scarlett 3, Pearce, Spratt & Robinson and Witham Nomads goal scorers were Ricky Leftly 2, Sam Greenhaigh & Kodie Smith.

Division Two

Great Bradford Reserves 5th hosted Finchingfield Rovers 7th and the home side won 2-1 which means no movement. Great Bradford Reserves goal scorers were James Shearer & Mike Kayley and Finchingfield Rovers goal scorer was Lefkos Constantinou.

Tolleshunt Knight Eagles 9th hosted Tiptree Jobserve Reserves 4th with the away side wining 6-3, there is no movement for these teams. Tolleshunt Knight Eagles goal scorers were Greg Corcoran, Ian Kidd & Chris Lancaster and Tiptree Jobserve Reserves goal scorers were Liam Murphy 2, Connor Murphy, Pele Heydon, Aiden O’Hara & Liam O’Reilly.

Witham Town 3rd hosted Manor Works 6th and the home side won 11-2 and there is no movement in the league. Witham Town’s goal scorers were James Stewart, Jack Stoneham 3, Luke Wheeler 2, Ricky Webb, Ed Bennett, James Brown, Ryan McCormack & Ky Richardson and Manor Works goal scorers were Reid Whitehead & Adam Starckey.
