JOHN HORROCKS MEMORIAL TROPHY.- SEMI FINAL.

Braintree Iron 5 Kelvedon Social 3.

Braintree Iron dodged a bullet with an injury ravaged squad falling 0-2 behind to Kelvedon Social who started the game quickly playing some nice football. The Iron looked leggy following the exertions of a midweek cup final. The managers change in formation also clearly being a mistake. Braintree Iron got a grip in the second half and pulled the scores level at 90 minutes which made it 3-3 to see a period of extra time played. Both sides were out on their feet but premier division experience and sheer will to win saw the Iron score twice in the extra period to secure their place in the John Horrocks Memorial Trophy Cup Final. The goals for Braintree Iron were scored by Luke Frisby, Bradley Turner, James Norris, Jordan Miller and Billy Capper.

AFC Barnston beat Panfield Bell 2-1.

DIVISION ONE.

Swizzino 1 High Easter 7.

High Easter travelled to the Writtle College Ground and there was plenty going on with an Archery Tournament going on in one corner and a Netball Tournament in another corner but on the pitch High Easter put in a blistering second half performance with each player putting in a TEN STAR PERFORMANCE and smashing in six second half goals. High Easter started well with George Hamill having a good shot on goal but it was well saved by the Swizzino keeper Hadley Smith.Swizzino took the lead from a great headed goal from Dan Pipes, the first half contined with both teams playing excellent football.High Easter drew level from a brilliant free kick scored by George Hamill to make it 1-1 at Half Time. The second got underway with end to end football and it looked like the team to score the second goal would win the match by a small margin and it was High Easter who took the lead from a good strike by Jack Shaw with the help of a slight deflection to make it 2-1 but what was going to happen next you had to be dreamland. Great football by High Easter for the third goal from Jack Shaw and Jordan Carter set up Tom Watkins to fire home 3-1. Christian Roles whipped in a shot to make it 4-1. It was non stop pressure on the Swizzino goal when a Warren Baines shot rattled the post but Christian Roles fired in the rebound 5-1. Sam Hockley sent over a cross from the right flank and it was met by Christian Roles who made the score 6-1 and completed his hat trick. The ever busy Jack Shaw scored his second goal of the game and the Final Score ending 7-1. And a comment from the Ref at the end of the match was `the best game I have officiated this season`.
