Results Round up – Sunday 17th March 2019
Bocking Social 7th hosted Braintree Iron 1st and both teams got a point each in a 2-2 draw. Bocking Socials goal scorer was Harry Groves 2 and Braintree Irons goal scorers were L. Frisby & J. Evans.
Great Bradfords 6th hosted CFC Shalford 8th and they drew 1-1. Great Bradford’s goal scorer was Keith Jones and CFC Shalford’s goal scorer was Ben Reynolds.
Nags Head Celtic 4th hosted Great Bardfield 9th and the home side won 5-2 to move up to 2nd place. Nags Head Celtic’s goal scorers were Matty Knowles, Rory Bone 2, Andy Hughes & Sean Radley and Great Bardfield’s goal scorers were Billy Andrews & Dean Cater.
Tiptree Jobserve 6th hosted Bocking Eagles 7th with the away side taking the points with a 3-1 win to move up to 6th place. Tiptree Jobserve’s goal scorer was Caetano and Bocking Eagles goal scorers were Tom Garnham, Alpha Kai-Samba & How Nicola.
Great Bradford Reserves 6th hosted Tolleshunt Knight Eagles 10th and the home side won 3-0. Great Bradford Reserves goal scorers were Jack Morter 2 & Jordain Tighe.
Notley Reserves 1st hosted Heybridge Harriers 2nd with the away side winning 2-1 to become the first team to beat Notley in the league this season. Notley Reserves goal scorer was Jason Thompson and Heybridge Harriers goal scorer was Jack Howe 2.
Having switched venues to Heybridge it was them that started the game better Heybridge were rewarded with a first half goal. Notley started the second half with more intensity but were unable to find the net, with a formation change to force the issue heybrige took advantage and grabbed a second. Notley continued to try and get back into the game Jason Thompson pulled one back but it wasn’t enough to stop notleys first league defeat of the season.
Witham Town 3rd hosted Witham Phoenix 9th and the home side won 10-0. Witham Towns goal scorers were Shane Lindsell 2, Jack Stoneham 3, Jacob Palmer, James Stewart, Harry Stoneham & Ryan McCormack 2.
Division One Cup Semi Final
Notley hosted Dunmow Rhodes and the away side won 7-1 to move into the final. Notley’s goal scorer was Aaron Smith and Dunmow Rhodes goal scorers were Emilio Caceres, Warren Baines, Charlie Gooch, Jake Sutton & Chris Roles 3.
Dunmow Rhodes put in an excellent second half performance against Notley FC at High Easter on Sunday in there League 1 cup semi final winning 7-1 and will now play Tiptree Elite in the final.The first half did not come to life until midway through the half when good team play by Warren Baines and Jake Sutton set up Christian Roles to fire past Notley keeper Aaron Murry.Notley soon drew level when an excellent shot from distance by Aaron Smith saw the ball flash past keeper Luke Johnson into the top corner to make it 1-1.Dunmow Rhodes hit there second goal just before half time when Emilio Caceres-Sola sent over a corner kick and Warren Baines sent in an excellent headed goal for a 2-1 lead at Half Time. Dunmow Rhodes took full advantage of the windy conditions in the second half, and hit there third goal when a dazzling display of control of a football by Emilio Caceres -Sola beating defenders in his path and sending the ball into the ball of the net with a good finish. The goals kept coming for Dunmow Rhodes, a free kick from Ollie Blower found the head of Jake Sutton who whipped the ball into the net. 4-1.Notley kept working hard to get back in the game, but they gave away another free kick, this time taken by Josh Breeze, it was met by Christian Roles and with another headed goal made it 5-1.This was a game of some cracking goals and Charlie Gooch excellent strike was a top class finish to make the score 6-1.Christian Roles who got the Man of the Match, scored his third goal of the game from a great shot to make the Final Score 7-1.
Tiptree Elite hosted Braintree Legends and the home side move into the final after winning 3-1. Tiptree Elite’s goal scorer was Tommy Gregory 3 and Braintree Legends goal scorer was Matti.
Finchingfield Rovers hosted Witham Nomads and the home side won 4-2. Finchingfield Rovers goal scorers were Charlie Pitt 2 & Reece Unwin 2 and Witham Nomads goal scorers were James Ambrose & Matt Wilsher.
Next Sunday 24th March sees the first of the BNESL Cup Finals between Witham Town Sunday and Notley Sunday Reserves in the Division Two Cup Final at Halstead Town FC – Kick Off 2.30.
