A depleted Rovers (through injury and unavailability) huffed and puffed to victory over a spirited Notley. A heavy pitch did not help but eventually we opened the scoring through Charlie Pitt before Matt Grounds killer ball was diverted into the net. Notley were good, despite their previous results and we are sure they will improve as the season goes on. Notley should have pulled one back late in the second half and certainly deserved something for their efforts but the ball rebounded kindly off the post for us. Rovers had a few chances but 2-0 was probably a fair reflection overall as our quality gave us the edge.
