Results Round Up – Sunday 1st November 2020

Premier Division

Braintree Iron failed to get a victory at the second time of asking against Drum Inn as Drum did the double of Iron for this season in a well fought 5-4 win. Iron stay top for now as Nags Head Vs Western Arms was postponed due to waterlogging at John Ray Street. Drum look comfortable in third but CFC Shalford are not letting up to get at them as they saw a 92nd minute winner against a resilient Witham United as that fixture finished 3-2 to CFC. Swan Athletic gained a place in the table up to 5th as they saw off league strugglers Great Notley 5-1, but Western can take 4th with the game in hand which would push Swan back down.

Division One

Panfield Bell’s lead at the top of Division One was cut to only 1 point as they could only muster a 1-1 draw against Flitch United. AFC Barnston join Halstead Town (Who did not play today against Notley First due to a waterlogged pitch) on 16 points as they saw a 6-3 win over Braintree Legends. Finchingfield also join the 16 point club as they ran out 5-2 winners away to Sporting 77, who stay bottom after 8 games.

Division Two

Great Bradfords First Team made a claim for top spot for the first time this season after a 3-2 victory over bottom side Witham White Horse. High Easter joined Bradfords on 15 points after 7 games as they too saw a 3-2 win over Tiptree Jobserve who have slipped the wrong side of the points gap although they do have a game in hand to rectify that. Coggeshall Town and Great Bradfield played out a 4-4 draw which saw Coggeshall slip off their top spot to third. The final match of the division saw Stisted FC First team match their opponent’s points tally as they joined Bradwell on 12 points after a 2-0 win.

Division Three

Tiptree Jobserve Reserves fell off the pace as they were well beaten by Stisted Reserves in a 6-1 victory for the home side. Notley Reserves continued their aim for top spot as they too won 6-1 against Witham Phoenix who remain bottom. Great Bradfords Reserves got their second win of the campaign as they put 4 past Broomfield who could only reply with 1 of their own which moves them up to 6th. TK Eagles manage a third draw of their campaign against Dunmow United which means both remain unmoved in the league.
