Results Round up – Sunday 1st September 2019

Premier Division

Braintree Iron last seasons champions started their season with a home game against Bocking Social and the game finished in a 2-2 draw. Braintree Irons goal scorers were Luke Frisby & Toby Blanche and Bocking Socials goal scorers were Harry Groves & Sam Greenhalgh.

Nags Head Celtic hosted newly promoted Braintree Legends and the home side won 3-2. Nags Head Celtic’s goal scorers were Andy Hughes, Ellis Carter & Rory Bone and Braintree Legends goal scorer was Rusu Robert Constantin 2.

Sporting 77 another promoted side hosted CFC Shalford with the game ending in a draw. Sporting 77’s goal scorer was Danny Raven and CFC Shalford’s goal scorer was Charlie Prow.

New team Tiptree Engaine hosted promoted Tiptree Elite with the away side winning 1-2. Tiptree Engaine’s goal scorer was Ed Killin and Tiptree Elite’s goal scorers were Matt Griffin & Scott Simmons.

Division One

Tiptree Jobserve hosted newly promoted Witham Town FC with the away side winning 0-4. Witham Town Fc’s goal scorers were Ryan McCormack 3 & Jake Stewart.

Division Two

Witham Phoenix hosted Tiptree Jobserve Reserves with the away side winning 0-3. Tiptree Jobserve Reserves goal scorers were Jordan Matthews 2 & Ryan Oakley.

Braintree Legends Reserves hosted Bradwell Rovers both new teams this season and the home side won 4-1. Braintree Legends Reserves goal scorers were Josh Ripton 2, James Ripton & Darren Gear and Bradwell Rovers goal scorer was Lewis Hughes.

Gordon Snell Trophy Round One

Halstead Town a new Division One team hosted Tolleshunt Knight Eagles from Division Two with the home side going through with a 5-1 win. Halstead Towns goal scorers were Tom Binks 2, Craig Lynn, Pele Heydon & Miles Harvey and Tolleshunt Knight Eagles goal scorer was Andy Cheek.

Malcolm Foy Memorial Trophy Round One

Great Bardfield hosted Stisted FC and the home side won 4-2. Great Bardfield’s goal scorers were Matthew Potter, Billy Andrews & Adam Daniels 2 and Stisted FC’s goal scorer was Ross Cook 2.

Notley FC hosted Panfield Bell and the home side won 5-1. Notley FC’s goal scorers were Tristan Woolfenden 3, Callum Farrell & Bradley Barnard and Panfield Bells goal scorer was Harry Rolf.

Dunmow Rhodes hosted Finchingfield Rovers from a lower division and the away side went through 2-4. Dunmow Rhodes goal scorers were Charlie Gooch & Kennie Irving and Finchingfield Rovers goal scorers were Charlie Pitt 3 & Lefkos Constantinou.

A great start to the season for second division Rovers, against Premier League opposition in the cup. Rovers positive start to the game was rewarded with a typical poachers goal from Charlie Pitt before fellow striker Lefkos Constantinou put us two up for half time. A revitalised Rhodes pulled one back in the second half but Rovers stepped up the work rate again with a magnificent diving header from Charlie Pitt. The game opened up more as Charlie was able to complete his hat trick after a third assist from Constantinou. Rhodes grabbed a consolation penalty before Rovers backline, saw the game home. A very satisfying start to the season

Dunmow Rhodes opened up there new season, with the Malcolm Foy Memorial Trophy 1st Round match at High Easter on Sunday against division two side Finchingfield Rovers with the away team winning 4-2, Dunmow Rhodes have been runners up in this competition for the last two seasons, and came up against a good side which should do well in division two this season. With good support coming from both teams,they were treated to an excellent game of fast flowing football, and Finchingfield Rovers took the lead on ten minutes when Charlie Pitt fired in a great shot that hit the back of the net, Lefkos Constantinow soon made it 2-0 ,an excellent strike just outside the penalty box, which hit the cross bar,fell on to the goal line, and spun into the goal, the away team were having a good twenty minute spell, with another shot hitting the post,but the closing minutes of the first half belonging to Dunmow Rhodes with a great shot from Lewis Roe just whistling over the crossbar. Dunmow Rhodes started the second half well and pulled a goal back from the pace of Charlie Gooch, who flew past the Finchingfield Rovers defence and whipped in a great goal, in off the post, Dunmow Rhodes continued to push forward, but Finchingfield Rovers hit there third goal from a good shot from the right flank by the ever dangerous Lefkos Constantinow, the same player set up Charlie Pitt with another decent goal to make it 4-1. Dunmow Rhodes pulled a goal back from the penalty spot, taken well by Kennie Irving, the last ten minutes of the game saw Dunmow Rhodes continue to put pressure on the away team goal, without any luck and the Final Score ending 2-4

New team Kenson FC hosted Notley FC Reserves from a lower division and the home side won 6-0. Kenson FC’s goal scorers were Adam Green 2, Jonathan Yabsley 2, Sam Sullivan & David Shelley.

Flitch United hosted Witham White Horse from the division below and the home side won 8-0. Flitch United’s goal scorers were Matthew Wickham 2, Jordan Robertson 3, Elliott Cockerell & Rory Mercer 2.

New side Stisted FC Reserves hosted Heybridge Harriers from a division higher and the home side went through 1-0. Stisted FC Reserves goal scorer was Billy Kinkaid.
