Results Round Up – Sunday 20th September 2020
A difficult day for Great Notley saw them go home with an 8-0 loss after the visit of new league leaders Braintree Iron. Another high scoring match saw early pace setters Drum Inn unable to find the net as Nags Head Celtic finished 5-0 to the better as they continue their impeccable record from last season. Two tight games finished our weekend in an unusual week where all four winning sides found themselves with clean sheets as well! The away sides were victorious as CFC Shalford took the win at Sauls Bridge 0-1 against Swan Athletic and Western Arms suffered their first defeat of the year against Witham United 0-1 who picked up their first points! A strong division shaping up here in the early stages!
Barnston AFC travelled to Halstead Town as they dropped their first points of the year as Halstead Town found themselves with a comfortable 3-0 win. Notley First Team walked away with a 3-1 victory over Flitch United with that result replicated at Tabor as Sporting 77 fell to a third successive defeat to Braintree Legends 3-1. Panfield Bell welcomed Finchingfield Rovers in the last fixture of the season, expected to be a close game and that did not disappoint as Panfield Bell just edged a 3-2 encounter.
Division Two is shaping up to be the tightest division of our competition at the moment as after this weekend’s round of fixtures we see six teams sitting on 6 points!! Great Bradfords First Team travelled to Coggeshall Town with a strong chance to go top but fell short as they lost 3-1 bringing Coggeshall back into the group of 6 at the top. Great Bardfield and Witham White Horse continued their winless run as they fell to their opponents with Bardfield losing 2-1 against Stisted First Team and White Horse found themselves on the wrong side of a 4-1 against Tiptree Jobserve First Team. We saw Bradwell Rovers also drop their first points of the year as they welcomed High Easter who saw a 3-0 victory in their favour. This weekend is very interesting as everyone begins meeting each other as Bradwell travel to Great Bradfords First Team and Tiptree Jobserve host Stisted!
Notley FC Reserves continue their very strong high scoring start to the season as they saw a 6-0 away win at Great Bradfords Reserves. Tiptree Jobserve Reserves offered some pressure on the top side as they ran out 6-2 winners against Broomfield BNESL. Witham Phoenix tough start to the year continued as they fell 6-1 to two hatrick scorers at TK Eagles. The final result of the weekend saw a tighter affair as the young Dunmow United side welcomed Stisted Reserves with the away side finishing the day with the points after a 3-1 win.
