Results Round Up – Sunday 21st November 2021
It was a mixture of Essex County cup matches, League Cup & League matches this weekend.
Essex Premier Cup 3rd Round
Halstead Town lost 9-2 at home to Flyhouse Athletic from the London Corinthian League.
Braintree Iron failed to field a side for their trip to SG Construction.
Division 1 Cup
Swizzino beat Witham United 6-2, Ross Kochan scored 5 goals and Harry Arnold scoring the other goal for Swizzino. Rob King and Ed Newton were on target for Witham United.
Kelvedon Social 2 High Easter 2.
High Easter made an excellent come back after trailing 2-0 at half time to make it 2-2 at the final whistle.
This was a hard fought battle and Ref Graham Foakes did well to keep things under control. Kelvedon Social got off to a great start taking the early lead from a corner, the ball was met in the middle by Liam Murphy to slot home. The home team were having a decent first half, and High Easter keeper Harrie Irving made a great save from a shot by Alfie Alexander, but the same player put Kelvedon Social 2-0 in front with a good run on goal and slipped the ball past Irving. High Easter were getting chances on goal, but nothing ending up in the back of the net and it was 2-0 at Half Time. High Easter started well in the second half and Kelvedon Social keeper Charley Symes was pulling off some brilliant saves, another chance went begging after a free kick from Ollie Blower who found the head of Christian Roles with the ball hitting the cross bar. High Easter pulled a goal back when a 45 yard special from a torpedo like shot from George Paola, the ball not leaving the ground and flashing past keeper Charley Symes to make it 1-2.Player manager George Watkins seemed to turn the game in High Easter`s favour when he came on as a Sub, and in the closing minutes George Paola sent in a great shot which gave the keeper no chance to save nestling in the back of the net to make the Final Score 2-2. High Easter entertain Kelvedon Social on Sunday 28th Nov 10.30am Kick Off.
AFC Barnston went goal crazy in this top v bottom contest AFC Barnston winning 14-0 against Braintree Legends.
Division 2 Cup
Sporting 77 booked there place in the next round with a 5-1 victory over Bocking Social. On Target for Sporting 77 were Luke Crosdale 2, Michael Pitts 1. Brad Keefe 1 and Adam Ryan 1. Shaye Ellis scored for Bocking Social. Notley FC beat Stisted FC 1-0 Edward Leader scoring the only goal of the game for Notley FC. There were plenty of goals at Kavern FC v Athletico Great Bradfords with the away team winning 5-3.Ben Lane scored 3.Harry Hurst 1 and Joe Nichols 1 scoring for Athletico Great Bradfords.
Halstead Town Res scored 3 goals, coming from Harry Groves 1. Rhys Green 1 and James Marten – Swain 1.Tiptree Jobserve scored 2 goals.
Division 3 Cup
Tiptree Jobserve Res had a 3-0 win over Broomfield BNESL. Dan Prior, Lewis Martin and James Hughes scoring for Tiptree Jobserve Res. Witham White Horse had a home defeat against Dunmow United losing 3-4.Jay Crane ,Nathan Turner and James Long scoring for the home team. Notley FC Res had a 1-1 draw against Stisted FC Res. Taylor Stigant scoring for Notley FC Res while Christian Goodbrand scored for Stisted FC Res. The match then went to penalties and Notley won the penalty shoot out 5-4.
TK.Eagles 4 Witham Phoenix 2. This was a tight game till almost to the very end going 1-1 then 2-2 but unfortunately Witham Phoenix suffered a couple of injuries and TK Eagles managed to pop in another 2 goals within the last few minutes of the match. Ben Dyer had an excellent game for Witham Phoenix scoring both goals. Glyn Mcnulty, Andy Cheek, Joe Sullivan and Brett Melia were on target for TK Eagles.
Braintree Athletic 2 Valley Green 1
Valley Green sit at the bottom of division 3 but they work there socks off every week trying to get that first point. This was a very even game and tightly contested. Braintree Athletic started well and should have took an early lead but for a good save by the keeper. Cameron Easter scored first for Braintree Athletic before Valley Green scored early in the second half, Braintree Athletic went on to win with a late goal from Nathan Clark. Valley Green had a last minute effort cleared off the line as it finished 2-1.
