Results Round Up – Sunday 25th October 2020
Nags Head Celtic showed no signs of letting up as they put four past CFC Shalford on their own turf. The half way point did however see Braintree Iron hold their top spot as they saw off Witham United 5-2. Drum Inn’s six goals only mustered one in reply as they grabbed their fourth win in seven to go third and Great Notley remain bottom after that one. Western Arms form improved as they put five goals past an in form Swan Athletic as that fixture finished 5-1.
The point’s standoff in the top three ended as Panfield Bell convincingly beat fellow high flyers Barnston AFC 4-1. The top three standoff may have ended but second place join Panfield Bell on 16 points as Halstead Town saw off Braintree Legends 2-1. Finchingfield Rovers sit fourth level with Barnston as they enjoyed a 4-2 victory over Notley First team. Sporting 77 woes continued as the bottom of the table clash saw Flitch United come of 5-2 better.
The most competitive division in the BNESL continued this weekend as Coggeshall failed to score past a Bradwell side who fired four of their own to join the top pack on 12 points, Coggeshall remain top but only on goals scored! Great Bradfords First Team honoured their friend and sponsor Scott Gilhooly in their new kits with a 4-1 win over Stisted First Team which sees them level Coggeshall’s points and goal difference! High Easter take the remaining space in the top four sitting third on Goal Difference after a 2-1 win over bottom side Witham White Horse who still seek their first point. The top four sit on 12 points but don’t be fooled the next three sides still sit just behind on 9 points this could genuinely go to anyone with Tiptree Jobserve holding a game in hand that could see them join the 12 point gang!
Dunmow United see themselves fourth in their first season at Men’s football after a 1-0 win against a struggling Great Bradfords Reserves. Witham Phoenix continue to work hard but still look for that first point as they lost 6-1 at Thurstable to Stisted Reserves. The final fixture of the weekend saw Notley Sunday Reserves reclaim top spot with a 6-1 victory over Broomfield BNESL. This is another one that is shaping up to be a good battle for the top as Tiptree Jobserve Reserves have a game in hand to potentially go back to the top on goal difference and Stisted FC Reserves still level on points with the leader!
