Results Round Up – Sunday 4th April 2021

FOOTBALL IS BACK! It has been missed by all and this weekend we saw 13 fixtures as our sides returned to league action, picking up where they left off!

Premier Division

Braintree Iron returned with solid performance as they came out 4-1 victors against Witham United. Nags Head Celtic were able to answer Iron’s victory as they saw off CFC Shalford 4-2, with a game in hand Nags sit two points below the league leaders! Drum Inn sit comfortably 3rd after a 6-0 win in their first match back as Great Notley failed to change their pre-lockdown fortunes. The final game of the weekend saw Western Arms put 5 unanswered goals past Swan Athletic.

Division One

A tight affair saw Panfield Bell continue their high flying season as they came out 2-1 winners against AFC Barnston. Halstead Town’s press took a stutter on their return as they saw a 1-1 stalemate with Braintree Legends. Notley First Team suffered a defeat on their return failing to respond to 4 Finchingfield Rovers goals. Fortunes turned for Sporting 77 on the first day back as they registered their first win of the season in a 5-4 goal fest against Flitch United.

Division Two

League leaders Great Bradfords First Team although unmoved failed to keep up their charge as Great Bardfield took 3 points in a 2-1 win in that fixture. High Easter and Coggeshall Town had the weekend off allowing them to hold games in hand on the leaders with Stisted and Tiptree Jobserve also waiting another week for their return. Bradwell Rovers saw a narrow win at 3-2 against league strugglers Witham White Horse.

Division Three

TK Eagles enjoyed their return as they saw off Broomfield 5-2. A strong Great Bradfords Reserves performance saw their points tally hit double figures for the season as they beat Witham Phoenix 3-1. League favourites Notley Reserves still hold 2 games in hand on top place Stisted First Team beating the top side 1-0 in a close match today. Dunmow United and Tiptree Jobserve Reserves get their campaigns back under way next weekend!
