Results Round Up – Sunday 4th October 2020

Premier Division

The first rainy Sunday of the season saw a goal fest in our premier division. Order of the day was 10 goals for Nags Head Celtic who enjoyed their away day at Great Notley who could only respond with the one goal as Nags continue their unbeaten run. Braintree Iron came back from 5-2 down to defeat CFC Shalford 6-5 in what can only be described as a BNESL Classic! Iron hold on to top spot with this win. Drum Inn continued their winless away record as Western Arms took all three points in a 3-1 win. The Sauls Bridge derby saw Witham United unable to build as they fell 5-1 to Swan Athletic who picked up their first win of the campaign.

Division One

Panfield Bell and Notley First Team met in a top of the table clash as Notley started the day unbeaten, that could not continue as the Bell side took the win at 5-3 to see them end the weekend top of Division One. Halstead Town’s first day of the season loss seems to have been a blip after four in four since then as they ran out 4-1 victors against Sporting 77 who are still seeking their first win. Barnston AFC kept pace at the top as they saw an emphatic win over Flitch United 6-0 to the good. The last fixture of the weekend saw Finchingfield Rovers back at home after a few away days and they returned to the village with a hard fought contest taking a 3-2 win against Braintree Legends.

Division Two

A shock loss saw a depleted Great Bradfords First Team drop points against a resurgent Great Bardfield FC as the home side won 4-2. High Easter bounced back from last weekend’s loss to match Great Bardfield’s score line with 4-2 over Stisted FC First Team. Bradwell Rovers join the top five on 9 points this weekend with their third win in five weeks over Witham White Horse. Division Two marks the first and only lost fixture to the elements so far this season as Tiptree Jobserve’s pitch couldn’t handle the fixture against Coggeshall Town so both sides find themselves with a game in hand on the teams around them now, important for Coggeshall who with a win could go three clear at the top.

Division Three

Notley FC Reserves unbeaten run came to an end as Tiptree Jobserve Reserves walked out 5-3 winners at Four Releet to take top spot, after last weekend’s thumping with Jobserve are ones to watch! Stisted FC Reserves edged a 4-3 victory at Broomfield FC to see themselves in the top three and level points on 12 with the top two! Dunmow United Sunday earned their second win of the season as they welcomed Witham Phoenix a much improved Phoenix performance made it hard for the home side but not quite enough to deprive them of all three points as it ended 4-2 to Dunmow United. Great Bradfords Reserves picked up their 4thpoint of the season against TK Eagles in a 2-2 draw at Braintree Leisure Centre.
