Finchingfield Rovers 2nd hosted Tolleshunt Knight Eagles 9th and the home side won 4-1 and move up to 1st place. The return match that mirrored the early season fixture. After both games Finchingfield have scratched their heads why TKE have taken a few battering this season as again, they played very well in the first half, going into the break 1-0 up as they did in the first game with a goal from Greg Corcoran. A heavy pitch did not help the Rovers passing football but another half time team talk got us playing and we quickly sprung into 2-1 turnaround with a brace from Charlie Pitt, sandwiched in between a Pitt penalty, which was brilliantly saved from the stand in TKE keeper. Rovers dominated the second half, hitting the woodwork on several occasions until Jack Gosden hit the third before Oliver Rand hit the 4th with a beautifully placed free kick. A good start to the New Year for the Rovers but TKE should be proud of the way they keep going week after week.
