Results Round Up – Sunday 6th January 2019

Premier Division

Great Notley 10th hosted Bocking Social 8th with the away side winning 1-2 to move up to 5th place. Great Notley’s goal scorer was Jamie Bull and Bocking Social’s goal scorers were Alex Cutts & Harry Groves.

Western Arms 3rd hosted Nags Head Celtic 4th and won 4-2 to move to top of the league. Western Arms goal scorers were Ross Debrick, Dave Hawes & Ryan Henshaw 2 and Nags Head Celtic’s goal scorers were Michael Thompson & Matthew Knowles.

Division One

Onley Arms 9th hosted Dunmow Rhodes 3rd with the away side winning 0-6 and see them move up to 2nd place. Dunmow Rhodes goal scorers were Emilio Caceres, Sam DuBerry, Charlie Gooch, George Hamill, Kennie Irving & Lewis Roe.

Dunmow Rhodes put in another excellent performance after there Christmas and New Year break winning at Olney Arms 6-0 and now sit in second place in the league.Dunmow Rhodes got into there stride quickly creating several chance,but the Onley Arms keeper Mike Grinstead was having a good game, to keep out the busy Dunmow Rhodes forwards,but they hit there first goal on twenty minutes,good team work,passing the ball around led to the goal,when Emilio Caceres – Sola smashed the ball into the net with pace to make it 1-0,Dunmow Rhodes soon made it 2-0 after a brilliant shot from Kennie Irving was well saved by Grinstead,the rebound fell to George Hamill who neatly tucked the ball round the keeper into the bottom corner if the goal.Kennie Irving turned provider again when he sent a pass to striker Sam Duberry who made it 3-0 with a neat finish to make it 3-0 at Half Time.The second half got underway with Dunmow Rhodes still in control and keeper Grinstead saving well on several occasions,but he could not stop an excellent finish from Lewis Roe,his run down the left flank and shot flashed into the net to make it 4-0.The goals kept coming when Emilio Caceres – Sola set up Kennie Irving to score a well deserved goal 5-0.Charlie Gooch was having a good second half with his pace,and hit goal number six to make the Final Score 6-0. Man of the Match for Dunmow Rhodes was Emilio Caceres – Sola.But credit must also go to Onley Arms keeper Mike Grinstead.

Panfield Bell 4th hosted Braintree Legends 5th and the away side won 1-2 and stay in 5th place. Panfield Bell’s goal scorer was Lewis Sennox and Braintree Legends goal scorers were Wes Swan & Gary Harbert.

Witham Nomads 8th hosted Tiptree Elite 1st and got a 2-2 draw and both teams stay in the same positions. Witham Nomads goal scorer was Joe Cornwall 2 and Tiptree Elite’s goal scorer’s was Tommy Gregory and John Mann.

Division Two

Great Bradfords Reserves 4th hosted Notley 1st team and the away side won 2-3 to move 11 points clear at the top. Great Bradfords Reserves goal scorers were Brandon Masheder & Jack Morter and Notley’s goal scorers were Bradley Barnard, Darren Douglas & Callum Farrell.

Heybridge Harriers 3rd hosted Tolleshunt Knight Eagles 9th and the game ended in a 3-3 draw. Both teams stay in the same positions. Heybridge Harriers goal scorers were Evan Davis, Stuart French & Daniel Parish and Tolleshunt Knight Eagles goal scorers were Jordon Hoy, Chris Houghton & Andy Cheek.

Gordon Snell Trophy 3rd Round

CFC Shalford from the Premier Division hosted Division One team Tiptree Jobserve and the away side went through with a 2-4 win. CFC Shalford’s goal scorers were Ed Foy & Charlie Prow and Tiptree Jobserve’s goal scorers were Scarlett 3 & House.

Finchingfield Rovers from Division Two hosted Bocking Eagles from Division One with the away side winning 1-3 to go through to the next round. Finchingfield Rovers goal scorer was Jarrod Spencer and Bocking Eagles goal scorers were Alpha Kai-Samba 2 and Paul Kenny.

Great Bradfords hosted Flitch United both teams from the Premier Division and the away side went through with a 1-2 win. Great Bradfords goal scorer was James Symmes and Flitch United’s goal scorers were Jake Buckland & Elliott Elwood.

Notley FC hosted Sporting 77 both teams from Division One and the away side went through with a 0-5 win. Sporting 77’s goal scorers were Ben Barnsley, Chris Cook 3 and Danny Raven.

Witham Phoenix from Division Two hosted premier Division side Braintree Iron and the away side went though with a 1-7 win. Witham Phoenix’s goal scorer was James McLaughlin and Braintree Irons goal scorers were L. Frisby, D. Norris, N. Stackhouse, W. Hardy and K. Dodge 2 and an OG.

Braintree Iron returned from the Christmas break to secure a 1 – 7 away win against Witham Phoenix progressing to the next round of the Gordon Snell Trophy. Despite the scoreline and difference in League positions Witham provided stubborn opposition and played their part in this tie. The Amber and Blacks goal scorers were Dan Norris, Luke Frisby, Nick Stackhouse, Will Hardy an OG and a brace from Kieron Dodge. The Iron were able to utilise all 5 subs providing the full squad with some much needed game time. We would like to thank Witham for allowing us to respect the memory of Reis Farley – Hearn prior to kick off who was a friend and team mate and sadly lost his life far too young over the festive period. RIP Reis

Division Two Cup 2nd Round

Manor Works hosted Tiptree Jobserve Reserves with the away side winning 3-6 to move into the semi finals. Manor Works goal scorers were Adam Starckey, Adam Francis and Daniel Parish and Tiptree Jobserve Reserves goal scorers were Will Kimber 4, Lewis Wollington & Liam Murphy.

White White Horse hosted Witham Town and the away side won 0-4 and move into the semi final. Witham Towns goal scorers were Ryan McCormack, Jake Stewart, Shane Lindsell & Harry Stoneham.
