Results Round Up – Sunday 7th November 2021

It was not a good day for some of the Braintree & North Essex Sunday League teams in the Essex Sunday Junior Cup.

Essex Sunday Junior Cup 2nd Round

High Easter 0 v St. Eagles 1

A goal midway through the first half for St Eagles scored by Guy Gammon saw High Easter exit from the Essex Sunday Junior Cup second round. This was a good match between High Easter and the Brentwood side St Eagles with good controlled football mainly due to a good playing surface. Both teams started well with chances coming at both ends and against the run of play St Eagles made it 1-0 from a good strike by Guy Gammon firing his shot into the bottom corner past High Easter keeper Josh Breeze to make it 1-0 at Half Time. The second half got underway with High Easter in control with four consecutive corners taken by Henry French placing each one in the goal area but no one could not connect one into the net, Reece Cottrell was having a good game in defence making some excellent tackles, but the final whistle came with High Easter losing 1-0.

Feering Village beat Witham United 9-4 after the score was only 2-2 at half time with Witham United just having 11 players for the game.

It was a cracking game at Tollesbury Athletic against Kelvedon Social with the score at Full Time 4-4. Tollesbury Athletic scored 3 more in extra time to make the Final Score 7-4. Lewis Brennan, Alfie Alexander 2 and Aidan O’hara scored for Kelvedon Social.

Premier Division

Halstead Town 0 v Panfield Bell 4

Halstead Town had a few player problems at the start of the game by starting with ten players and then went down to nine after John Rose picked up an injury against league leaders Panfield Bell who scored 4 goals with Russell Newman 2 and 1 each for Scott Kemp and James Cook.

Swan Athletic 5 v CFC Shalford 2

A deserved win for Swan Athletic after they beat CFC Shalford 5-2 ,Swan led 2-0 at half time and scored three more in the second half.Rory Bone and Adam Watts scored for CFC Shalford while Tate Filby scored 4 goals and Jamie Anderson 1 for Swan Athletic.

Division 1

Swizzino are really hitting form in Division 1 after beating bottom club Braintree Legends 5-1 goals coming from Harry Duhig 2, Harry Pearson, Tyler Pearson and Conner Molloy. Swizzino move in second spot above High Easter who have 4 games in hand and 2 games in hand on leaders AFC Barnston.

Division 2

Bocking Social lost 2-0 at home to Notley FC both goals coming from Edward Leader. Athletico Great Bradfords won 3-2 at Sporting 77. Harry Hurst 2 Conner Figes 1 whipped in the goals for the away team. Brad Keefe and Jack McIntyre scored for Sporting 77.Stisted lost at home to Halstead Town Res 3-4.

Division 3

Witham Phoenix 1 v Stisted Res 1

This was a very close battling performance with Stisted Res taking the a 1-0 lead scored by Tom Garnham. In the second half Witham Phoenix were the stronger team, both goal keepers played a big part in the game with some excellent saves from both. Witham Phoenix finally got there reward with a goal from George Windsor to make the final score 1-1.

Dunmow United beat Tiptree Jobserve Res 5-2 Kian Kinsella and Lewis Martin found the back of net for Tiptree Jobserve.

TK.Eagles had Ben Sims score the only goal for the home team but Great Bradfords hit 4 goals through Michael Kayley, Jamie Blunnie, Bobby Pike and Jack Gilgrist in there 4-1 victory.

Valley Green are scoring a few more goals now when they scored 4 against Witham White Horse who went one better in this nine goal thriller and hit 5 with Nathan Turner 2, Jack Swann, Ben Platten and James McGee in a 5-4 win.

Notley Res take over top spot in division 3 on goal difference after beating Broomfield BNESL 11-1, Kane Gilbert scored 4, Liam Gill 3, Jack Potter 2, Ciaran Robinson and Jack Stanford.
