Results Round-Up Sunday 9th September 2018

Premier Division

Bocking Social hosted Great Notley and won 3-2. Tom Lightly put Bocking 1-0 up but had to come from 2-1 down at half time to win. Tyler Kemp and new signing Lewis Cacchio got the other goals. Great Notley’s goal scorers were Sam Edwards & Ross Layton.

Braintree Iron hosted Great Bardfield and won 3-2 to go second in the league. A game which saw Braintree Iron take a 3-0 lead in the first half. In the second half Great Bardfield fought back to make it 3-2 and also hit the cross bar in the last minute. Braintree Iron’s goal scorers were a Luke Frisby, Lewis Soraf (Pen) & Nick Stackhouse. Great Bardfield’s goal scorers were George Sheath & Connor Hopkins.

CFC Shalford hosted Great Bradfords with Great Bradfords winning 4-1. CFC Shalford’s goal scorer was Tom Groves. Great Bradfords goal scorers were Andy Turner, Josh Preston & Jack Gilgrist 2.

Flitch United hosted Witham United and won 4-0 to go top of the table. Another great performance from Flitch United 2 early Goals from Billy Skinner the pick of them being a 25 yard free kick helped us towards controlling the game with Aaron Collier and Chris Moore also bagging a goal each in the first half meant the second half was all about defensive responsibility’s superb performances from the back four and midfield meant that Flitch controlled the game and grabbed another vital 3 points.

Division One

This was a hard fought match between the two teams who came up from division two last season, with Dunmow Rhodes and Panfield Bell playing out a 2-2 draw at High Easter. Panfield Bell had an early chance but Dunmow Rhodes keeper Luke Johnson saved well, but an excellent shot from Cinran Smith put Panfield Bell in the lead. Dunmow Rhodes drew level from a good run and shot by Jake Sutton to make it 1-1, the first half continued with a good even contest. Panfield Bell then hit there second goal with a decent strike from Jo Johnson to make it 2-1 in Panfield Bell`s favour at Half Time. Luke Johnson was quick into action at the start of the second half, saving well, as Panfield Bell were putting pressure on the Dunmow Rhodes defence. The Dunmow Rhodes forwards were causing problems at the other end and after some continued pressure the ball found it`s way into the net with Ben Fisher scoring the goal to make it 2-2. Panfield Bell keeper Arron Bridle received an injury and was unable to continue in goal so defender Ryan Gilbert put on the keepers jersey and he kept a clean sheet and the game ending 2-2. Panfield Bell go second in the league and Dunmow Rhodes go third.

Onley Arms hosted Bocking Eagles with the away side winning 8-2. Onley Arms goal scorers were Ben Collar & James Grace. Bocking Eagles goal scorers were Will Meakings 2, Isaac Falk, Harry Day, Connor Fincham, Adam Palmer & Paul Archer.

Sporting 77 hosted Tiptree Elite and the away side won 7-2 to go top of the table. Sporting 77’s goal scorers were Jordan Phillips & Luke Anderson.

Witham Nomads hosted Notley and won 2-0. The home sides goal scorers were Eddie Holroyd & James Ambrose.

Division Two

Great Bradford Reserves hosted Manor Works and the away side won 4-1 to move top of the table. Great Bradford Reserves goal scorer was Matt Baker.

Notley Reserves hosted Witham White Horse and won 3-1 to move to second place.
A penalty that stunned everyone that was converted by Ben Platten saw Witham go into half time 0-1. An intense Notley midfield took the game to Witham chasing every thing, Tristan Woolfenden turned his defender with the ball at his feet and hit home the equalizer, Notley continued to pile on pressure and they got their reward when a nice move was finished be Scott Collins. Sam Love’s fresh legs pulled Witham’s defence about for the last 10 minutes and loves neat cross to Tristan Woolfenden who put the game out of sight to complete his brace. Harry Phillips organisation in defence in the second half gave him mom for Notley.

Tolleshunt Knight Eagles hosted Heybridge Harriers and the game finished 4-4 and moved the Heybridge Harriers to third place. Tolleshunt Knight Eagles goal scorers were Andy Cheek 2, Brandon Seabar & Jordon Hoy (Pen). Heybridge Harriers goal scorers were Connor Davis, Connor Scott & Jack Howe

Witham Phoenix hosted Witham Town. A fiercely contested game where the lead changed hands on several occasions, Witham Town’s young side prevailed in the end coming from 3-2 behind to win 5-3. Jamie Panting was MOM for Witham Town. Witham Phoenix goal scorers were Fab Williams 2 & Jon Flowers. Witham Town’s goal scorers were Liam Murphy, Ryan McCormack 2 & Jake Stewart 2.
