Bocking Social FC beat newly promoted Broomfield FC 2-0, Harry Groves and Matthew Stepton scored the goals for Bocking Social.
CFC Shalford 3 Western Arms 2 – Shalford entertained current champions Western Arms with both teams winning their first game of the season. Shalford broke the deadlock in the 13th minute when a ball over the top found Aaron Collier who lobbed the keeper. Western had the chance to equalise when they were awarded a penalty with 5 minutes of the first half remaining, Dan Gage stepped up but Kieran Colville in the Shalford goal made a great save to preserve the home sides lead at the interval. Western equalised after 65 minutes when Jez Catchpole scored after a free kick wasnt cleared and he fired the loose ball in to the net. Shalford went back in front with 15 minutes to go Aaron Collier firing home a free-kick from the edge of the area. Shalford then made it 3-1 when Aaron Collier completed his hat-trick firing home another free-kick this time from 30 yards out. Western pulled a goal back with 10 minutes to go when Ross Debrick scored, Western then threw everything at the hosts to force a draw but Shalford hung on for a fully deserved win to end Western’s unbeaten league run stretching back three seasons.
Nags Head Celtic moved to 2nd place beating Witham United 10-2. Goal scorers for Nags Head Celtic were Charlie Palmer 4, Ben Barnsley 2, Corey Carter 2, Pete Falco 1 & Rory Bone 1.
Flitch United beat Valley Green 2-0 thanks to goals from Troy Featherstone and Tom Le Masurier.
Great Bardfield won this entertaining game 6-5 against Great Notley. The goalscorers for Great Bardfield were Scott Forbes 3, Matthew Potter 1, Adam Daniels 1 & Karl Manning 1 and for Great Notley the goal scorers were Kieran Ralph 2, Ben Hindley 2 & Brad Gray 1.
Notley FC 3 – 0 Sporting 77 – A bright start from Notley was rewarded when Gavin woolfenden was the quickest to retract from a Scott Collins free kick, sporting threatened from set pieces but Notley defended well, the second half was frustrating eventually Steve Webb grabbed Notleys 2nd quckly followed by a Scott Collins free kick.
Onley Arms drew 3-3 with newly promoted Bocking Social Reserves.
Tolleshunt Knights Eagles beat Dunmow Rhodes 10-1 – As strange as this result might read,with the 10-1 defeat for Dunmow Rhodes FC by Tollehunt Knight Eagles,this was a good contest,in which Dunmow Rhodes could have had four or five goals themselves, if they had converted there chances.Tolleshunt Knight Eagles got of to great start,scoring in the first five minutes,when Andrew Cheek scored from close range, Cheek then made it 2-0 from a good cross,and a neat finish,and within ten minutes he completed his hat trick,with another fine goal to make it 3-0,this rearly put Dunmow Rhodes on the back foot,but they recovered,with Charlie Gooch firing an overhead kick, over the bar,and another shot hitting the post,Gooch and Kennie Irving were causing problems in the Eagles defence, with some strong running at
there defence. At the other end Rhodes keeper Luke Johnson was kept busy,but saving well.Rhodes had there first corner midway through the first half,Adam Griggs sent over a good cross,it was met by Reece Cottrell,and with an excellent overhead kick,the ball flashed into the back of the net 3-1.The Eagles then scored again,with Andrew Cheek hitting his fouth goal,to make it 4-1 at Half Time.The second half got underway with the Eagles scoring two quick goals,both from corners ,and both converted by Jordan Hoy to make it 6-1.Dunmow Rhodes were still pushing forward and showing good spirit,skipper Christian Roles shooting over the bar and other chances going wide,but Tolleshunt Knight Eagles made it 7-1 with Tom Dickinson scoring,it was soon 8-1,(scoring there fifth goal from a corner cross,) and Andrew Cheek sending it into the net with a decent header,to make his total of five goals for the game,Jordan Hoy completed his hat trick,with a good headed goal,and Gregg Corcoran made it 10-1.Kennie Irving was still working well,and Dunmow Rhodes never gave up,and still getting the odd chance before the final whistle.
Valley Green Reserves v Witham Swan. Witham Swan go second in Division 2 after beating Valley Green Reserves 4-1.
Witham Nomads go top of the table after beating Manor Works 3-1.
Witham Phoenix drew 3-3 with Panfield Bell.
