Another week and another week filled with cup games for many. BNESL teams that played in cup competitions this week saw improvement on those that played last week.
In the Essex Sunday Junior Cup five teams played and two of these avoided extra time and penalties to go through to the next stages. Silver End Social finally found form and banged 5 past St Osyth in a 5-1 win. Notley FC dominated Newtown Rovers from Colchester and District League winning 5-1.
Two of our teams played in the Essex Sunday Junior Trophy but sadly they could not produce a win to progress. Witham Nomand Reserves lost 9-0 to Cole Green and Tiptree Jobserve held colchester Athletic 2-2 after 90 mins but could not find the extra bit of stamina needed as Colchester Athletic managed to grab a late winner finishing 3-2.
In our own cup competition Panfield Bell saw themselves beaten 2-1 by and in form Witham Swan side in the Gordon Snell Trophy. The Premier Div saw wins for both Western Arms and Valley green keeping them in good positions in the table. Cressing had a strong game winning against Bocking Social 3-0 While Dunmow Rhodes suffered a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Black Notley.
Only two fixtures were played in the Fisrt and Second Divisions. Great Bardfield having another strong week resulting in a 3-2 win at home against CSS Celtic, while Old Bramstonians lost at home to Broomfield 4-2. Dunmow Rhodes Reserves found a win at home against Bocking Social Reserves 4-2. Witham Phoneix and TK Eagles had a good close battle with Eagles coming out on top 5-4 in this nine goal thriller.
